What Kind of Jobs Are Available at Forever 21?

You’re over 18 and want to go ahead with applying for a job at Forever 21. But what can you do there?

Brand Ambassador

This sounds like a pretty important position! Don’t worry, though; it’s not as serious as it sounds. A brand ambassador is just a fancy way of saying, store associate.

This is a customer-facing role. It requires assisting clients with finding the best product and then cashing them out. You’ll also deal with stock replenishment, working on the fitting room, and keeping the shop floor ship-shape.

What skills do you need?

A candidate for this job should be a people person. You should be warm and friendly and have excellent communication skills. You also need to be able to keep a level head, as you’ll be handling customer complaints from time to time.

As you’ll be working on a POS, cash-handling experience is desirable. It helps if you have at least six months of previous retail experience, too. A flexible schedule is preferred as well, as employees will need to work evenings, weekends, and during holidays.

Visual Merchandising Associate

Got a great sense of style and a good eye for color? Don’t want to spend all your time talking to customers? This could be the best role for you.

This job is also about making the product look great. You organize the floor plan and execute it flawlessly. You appealingly display the clothing and are responsible for maintaining those displays throughout the day.

Passion for fashion…

This would suit an art lover who knows how to mix and match clothes. You need to be pretty organized, too, as this job requires a lot of planning. You should have a tidy mind and a great eye for detail. While this job has less customer interaction than a brand ambassador, you will still have to talk to people sometimes!

Merchandising associates are all trained to use the POS, and you will have to be a cashier on occasion. Plus, customers will likely ask you for help when you’re arranging the shop floor, so you have to be comfortable with talking to them.

Maintenance Associate

If you want to avoid those customers, then why not try for a job in maintenance? In this position, you can work alone and keep a low profile. It’s an introvert’s dream!

Maintenance associates take care of the store. They’re responsible for cleaning windows, floors, and all the furniture in the store. Most of this gets done before the store opens, but you’ll be expected to maintain it during opening hours.

Fixer-upper…

And if anything breaks, then you’ll be the one fixing it! No big jobs, just light repairs such as changing lightbulbs or tightening screws. You’ll be taking care of the restrooms, too, as well as emptying trash cans.

A maintenance associate has to be methodical and enjoy following procedures. They should like things to be clean and notice when something is out of place. And it should go without saying that they shouldn’t be afraid to get their hands dirty!

• Maintenance associates get a little more dough. The average is about $12 per hour, but it can go up to $16! Don’t expect that in your first few months there, though; you’re more likely to start on around $10 per hour.

Are There Any Employee Benefits For Working At Forever 21?

Of course! And they’re not too shabby, either. Forever 21 does a decent job of taking care of its staff. There’s an excellent insurance package covering life, health, dental, and vision.
